Mark Cooper started Cooper Foods in 1986 with Will Cooper joining him a year later. Since then, with the support and hard work of a loyal workforce, Cooper Foods has undergone an impressive transformation. Initially Mark started the company as a smokery with the addition (with the help of a willing mother) of making and selling home made meat pies to the catering trade. With the customers asking for cocktail prawns and breaded scampi and Mark’s desire to develop Cooper Foods, the early morning trips to Billingsgate began!

The cows graze on the herb-rich Hampshire Downs and are fed farm-grown cereals. Woodgarston farm is traditionally managed by Bob & Russell who breed replacements from within the herd and won the cup for outstanding stockmanship in 2004.This is the best milk we have ever tasted and it’s fantastic for cheese making. From this excellent raw material the cheeses are handcrafted and matured in the time-honoured way.

Ringwood Brewery

Ringwood Brewery

www.ringwoodbrewery.co.uk
Beer has been brewed in Ringwood for centuries ever since medieval man first mixed the crystal water of the River Avon with the malted barley harvested from the surrounding fertile fields of Hampshire. Ringwood Brewery was founded by Peter Austin in 1978, a man who is revered as “the father of British Micro-brewing”. Ringwood Brewery’s first brewhouse was in a former bakery in the old station yard brewing Best Bitter and Fortyniner for a handful of local customers. 1979 saw the production of Old Thumper, which has since become the flagship brew. Old Thumper was voted Champion Beer of Britain by CAMRA in 1988. In 1986, having outgrown the Minty’s yard premises, the brewery moved to its present site, ironically the location of the old Tunks’ Brewery which ceased trading in 1821. Today the brewery is able to produce circa 40,000 barrels of its renowned and distinctive beers. In addition to Best, Fortyniner, and Old Thumper, we now brew the blonde Boondoggle, our autumn brew Huffkin, the deliciously warming XXXX Porter, and new for 2010 will beShowman’s Tipple.

We supply in excess of one thousand of the South East’s leading chefs and retailers with a huge range of general and specialist foods. We spend a great deal of time sourcing the very best quality and spend time building relationships with our suppliers so that our business together can grow in the future. We are constantly striving to strike the right balance between quality and value and we will not compromise the former for the latter. Our quality is delivered through a service we feel is unique, and which we are also constantly striving to improve.
